Haiti 2015

We purchased cement for the construction of 4 new classrooms to serve 100 children.

We supplied the lumber for 4 new classrooms.

We provided the lumber for roofs to cover 2 new schoolhouses, with 4 classrooms.

 We provided over 100 pairs of shoes for local children. 

We funded a local feeding program that feeds over 200 children, ages 2-18.

We provided soccer cleats and soccer balls for a local soccer team.

We fed over 200 children in rural Haiti. This would be their only meal of the day.

We purchased lumber for 50 desks and benches in a local school.

We visited a local orphanage in Haiti where we gave toys, clothing, and food.

We painted benches and desks for local school.

We funded a computer class to teach basic IT skills to local youth.

We provided clothes and shoes for local orphans.

We taught first aid and fire safety to 250 children in a local school.

We brought toys and school supplies to local orphanage that cares for 45 children.

We painted tables and benches for the local primary school.

We provided medical supplies for elementary school, including sanitary napkins for young women.

We funded the installation of 6 new water systems in rural Haiti at schools, orphanages, and town centers.

We provided personal hygiene items to the people of Cité Soleil, the third-largest slum in the world.

We visited 10 schools in rural Ethiopia to hear about their needs for new classrooms and school supplies.

We toured 2 community hospitals to hear about their needs for generators, medical supplies, and new medical equipment.

We met with local business owners to discuss partnerships and support in our Ethiopia work.

We spoke with hundreds of civic leaders, parents, and young people about the pressing needs in Ethiopia.

We visited the sites of 3 new highschools we intend to help build in rural Ethiopia. This site is located in Maze, Ethiopia.

We spoke at the graduation of 50 seminary students at a local Lutheran church. These are future leaders in Ethiopia.

Even in the midst of a pandemic, with no grant funding and no stimulus income, we managed to provide the funding for screws and roofing for the new High School in Maze.

Our partner in Ethiopia traveled many miles to deliver the construction materials to the local elders and parents who are working together to build their children a school.

 We partnered with local leaders Christian Klever and Elaine Simons to provide new socks, coats, sleeping bags, scarves, hats, and gloves to our unhoused and underserved neighbors.
